The Asthma Signals Program

WHAT IT IS: The Asthma Signal product is an “Early Warning Software Program” that integrates each child’s asthma-related medical data (including an Asthma Action Plan, where available) with location-based activities and conditions, such as environmental allergens or pollutants.

WHO IT’S FOR: The system empowers families and caregivers to comply with their child’s Asthma Action Plan by translating the plan into easy-to-understand action steps – within the context of family and school life.

WHAT IT DOES: The program delivers personalized information and reminders via cell phone text message or smart-phone application. For example, a parent may receive a text message: “Remind Billy to use his inhaler before tomorrow’s soccer game”… because environmental data inputs show that the pollen count at the game location is expected to be very high.
